About Lyn Corum
Lyn Corum is an independent energy journalist beginning in 1990, writing for McGraw-Hill/Platts Energy Newsletters on breaking energy industry news stories. She also wrote quarterly columns covering California’s electricity industry for World Generation since the mid-1990s. At the same time, for approximately 16 years, she wrote long-form stories for Forester Communications publications, Distributed Energy and Water Efficiency Magazines.
Early on, the author worked for the Rand Corporation for nine years, then transitioned into the energy field, working for an energy consulting firm and then as an energy manager at California State University, Long Beach. Using that experience she began writing for McGraw-Hill/Platts, now S&P Global News. Between 1992 and 2005, she also wrote a newsletter for a Southern California power industry association. She has a B.A. degree from UCLA and a Master’s degree from California State University, Los Angeles.
